BIPP Group Rules

Battering Intervention and Prevention Program – BIPP
Group Rules and Program Regulations

  • Maintain Confidentiality. What is said in group stays in group.
     
  • If you are unable to attend your scheduled session, you must call the Program Director and inform of circumstances. Failure to do so will result in unexcused absence.
     
  • Arrive 15 minutes early for scheduled group session.
     
  • Participate in all group activities.
     
  • Adhere to no smoking in the facility.
     
  • Conservative casual dress required. No sunglasses are allowed in sessions. No sagging pants, hats, caps, or clothing advertising alcohol or illegal drugs are allowed.
     
  • Negative behavior such as "cutting up", "horse playing", and "acting out" will not be tolerated.
     
  • Physical or verbal violence is not tolerated. The threat of violence is not tolerated either and will result in unsuccessful discharge from DVI-TX BIPP.
     
  • Two absences are grounds for unsuccessful discharge from DVI-TX BIPP. Contact must be made with the Program Director.
     
  • Payment must be made each group session without exception to prevent a balance at the end of the program.
     
  • Advise our office of any changes in status, e.g., address, phone number, etc.
     
  • Children and pets are not allowed in group.
     
  • Keep your receipts for proof of payment. Without receipts, our records will be considered accurate.
     
  • Cell phones and pagers are to be turned off while in group session. Leaving class to check or make phone calls is NOT permitted.
     
  • Sleeping in group is not allowed. You will be asked to leave and will not receive credit for attending that session.
     
  • Participants in DVI-TX BIPP must remove all firearms from house while in the program.
